Hallway Scene Progress 3

Making a push with the hallway scene now. I've made more tweaks to the walls to help line everything up better and I've also added in the coving and chair rail to the scene. I've also added so extra lighting to help make the scene a little darker as is typical of film noir style.

Now I'm just need to insert the door handles and lights Kay has modelled an I think we are nearly there!

Hallway Scene Progress 2

I've now started adding some of the details to the scene namely the skirting board around the bottom of the wall in the scene. I've also had a play around with the wall to stop them from twisting as the doors won't line up properly. That said, I'm pleased with how it looks so far, it seems to work well and fit together nicely despite the odd angles and shapes.

Hallway Scene Progress

I've started adding the doors to the scene, but german expressionist walls aren't easy to match up with other objects. I've also used a lattice deformer to distort the doors and make them a little more in line with the concept and style we're aiming for.

CD Design

Short, sweet and too the point! :D

Character Design: Height Comparison

A quick height comparison for my characters. They all look like they belong in the same world too which is good.

Character Design: Final Designs

Here are my final designs for my three characters.

Heroine - Agent Chaser

Sidekick - Agent Bruiser

Villain - Agent Spectre

I wanted both the villain and the sidekick to have similar outfits but designed in a way that suited there physicality, i.e the sidekick being strong has ripped shoulders on his top.

Character Design Tutorial: Setting the Scene

This week was the last character workshop before our crit and to finish things off we looked at settings for characters. In this exercise we were given a a setting, mine was a primitive city. I decided to go with a tribal bamboo hut approach but stretch it out and have external manual lifts scaling the sides of the buildings.

Pre-viz Update

So I'm still having a few technical difficulties with several files in premiere pro but I figured something is better than nothing for now. I made a two separate clips from our pre-viz just to get an idea of how it looks so far.

Character Design Tutorial: Distinctive Characters

This weeks character workshop looked at silhouettes and and clothing. We started by drawing out some silhouettes, in which I got Elvis impersonators. I started with some generic looking characters but decide to try an gorilla impersonating Elvis which i have to say is my favourite of all of them.

I also tried an Elvis costume on an alien and also Jigglypuff (I thought why not, it sings right?)

We then had a look at creating believable materials such as draped cloths and creases in cloth. It proved to be a little difficult making metal believable but I did manage to make the cape look the part so I'm pleased with that.

Character Design Tutorial: Personality: The Spark of Life

Todays workshop covered body language and expressions. We started off with some basic body language drawings looking at the direction in which the limbs moved and shaped.

We also tried our hands at expression. Below is a character head I made up and made him look angry.

I alos tried a few expression on Superman but was having trouble with the jaw line.

Synopsis

The evil secret agent organisation D.I.E has stolen a super weapon in which they hope will help achieve world domination. However the weapon requires five key codes that were separated and put under guard.

In order to prevent D.I.E from succeeding, A.C.E agent Akali Chaser must act fast to obtain the key codes before D.I.E agents Sly Specter and Boon, using her new cybernetic enhancements to get the job done.

Character Biographies

Heroine: Akali Chaser
Akali Chaser is an agent within the sceret agent organisation A.C.E. fighting evil-doers from around the world. Little is known about Akali's past and how she came to be a member of A.C.E. is also unknown, but it is presumed she was hired due to her acrobat skills and ability to get the job done quickly and efficiently. Knowing D.I.E has possession of a super weapon, Akali must undergo cyborg enhancement to stop their plans before it's too late.

Villain: Sly Spector
Before joining D.I.E, Sly was an amateur thief, capable of stealing near invaluable items due to his inexperience. He was considered a joke amongst higher class thieves, until he attempted to steal a precious gem locked in a vault. Sly was successful in his attempt and made a name for himself. However he mysteriously vanished soon after. Years later, he reappeared, working for D.I.E as a top agent. His most recent assignment must see him become part man, part robot to obtain secrets that have been lost for decades, to further D.I.E's plans to rule the world.

Sidekick: Boon
Sidekick to Sly, Boon is the strongman of the evil duo. Regarded as a top agent in D.I.E, Boon's intimidating appearance demands respect from those who meet him. He was hired into D.I.E purely as muscle, to complete tasks other agents couldn't handle physically. After he and Sly underwent cyborg enhancement, Boon causes the occasional blunder, losing control over his enhancements from time to time due to his simple mindedness not being able to handle everything at once.

Character Design: More Female Body Proportions

Two more sketches for my heroines body. I think I'm getting closer to the acrobat styled body I want.
