Maya tutorial: Lighting and shaders

Week 3 of the Maya tutorials. This time we were introduced to lighting effects. We looked at different points of light such as 1 point, 2 point and 3 point lighting as well as learning how to make objects glow and how to create the different times of day using lighting tools.

2 point lighting
3 point lighting
Early morning setting
Midday setting
Night time setting
Horror setting
Sci-Fi setting
Fire setting
On top of learning and using the different types of light setting we also learnt about shaders. Unfortunately the reflectiveness hasn't worked to well on this (possibly a Mac problem as I adjusted the settings to exactly what was shown) but still this has helped massively and it feels like I am starting to make some good progress with Maya.
